Cozumel

We just booked a cruise to Cozumel that leaves in 2 weeks! Does anyone have any suggestions about what is the best thing to do there? Is it better to go off on our own or book through the cruise line? We are wanting to do some sight seeing, maybe go to a beach and swim and a little shopping. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Get off the ship.

 

Take a taxi to Paradise Beach club. There is no admission charge, but you will be expected to buy $10 worth of food/drinks there to help pay for the facilities. You can also get an optional wrist band to use the water toys for $10.

 

Some taxi tips:

 

Agree to the fare

before

you get in the vehicle.

 

Try to have exact change for the fare. Sometimes the drivers "can't make change"

 

Tipping isn't customary, but most americans still tip automatically anyway. I don't.

 

Once you have had enough fun there, take a taxi to the Plaza then walk along the water front 5 blocks to Los Cinco Soles for shopping.

 

That should fill your day.

 

I would not do a ship's tour in Cozumel unless it was to the mainland to visit Tulum.
