Which age group to put a 12 turning 13yr old

My daughter will be 12, turning 13 on our Spring Break HAL cruise. She likes arts/crafts and activities, and I think she might want to stay with the younger set. There are some friends that have older 13-14yr old girls, so does anyone know if she can stay in the younger group, but hang out at the Oasis with the older friends if she wants? Not sure which age group to put her in! thanks

My son always has a spring break cruise birthday. It has been so many years but I am thinking that he was placed in his age group that he was at the beginning of the sailing.

My son is 13 and I wasn't comfortable with the fact that the age group for him was 13-17 year olds. Seemed like too large of an age gap to me.
