I have been on 4 cruises and all have been in an inside room. I have no problem with them and the dark is great for sleeping however that can backfire if you just want to "nap" you end up sleeping too long.

 

My cruise coming up in October will be my 1st ever balcony. I am super excited. And after the price drops I got yesterday its a whoping 82 per person more for this balcony then what I would have spent on the inside :D
