Just booked this trip on the Sensation last minute yesterday. Anyone else going?

Hi! Saw your post...yup...a friend and I will be going on this cruise. Definitely looking forward to it. It'll be my first cruise to see what all this cruise stuff is about. lol

There is also another couple going. They posted on the Roll Call thread for our sailing. This trip will be a nice introduction to cruising, but don't let it be your end all decision maker for future cruises. This is just a short trip on an older, smaller ship. I think you"ll have fun. We are definately looking to find some friends to hang and talk with. We will be staying in Fort Myers for a few days prior. Then heading over to the boat the morning of the cruise. Any suggestions for what we must do in either stop ?

Nassau - I would say 2 definites are the Straw market which is walking distance from the pier. It's your typical flea market. You can get your tee-shirts, souveniers, etc here. The people in the straw market are a trip.

You definitely need to find your way over to Atlantis. Beautiful hotel & casino. Not to mention the underwater aquarium. If you're into swimming with dolphins, the experience at Atlantis is outstanding. I did it last year. Maghera was our Dolphin for a couple of hours. It was amazing.

 

Freeport - Head over to the marketplace for some shopping. Port Lucaya on Freeport is the hot spot

Are there any gay bars in Nassau ? I've heard they used to have some but are they still open?

Nassau is not gay friendly. They even protested when Rosie O'Donnell brought her chartered cruise on NCL there. :(

When is everyone arriving? Are you all flying/driving in the same day or are you arriving the day before?

We will be driving up from Fort Myers the same day, we are visiting with a friend for a few days prior. We are getting excited about the cruise.

So it is snowing outside right now we are expected to get 7 inches. I can't wait to be able to enjoy the sun and fun in just over a week.

We'll be driving over from Tampa area. I'll be there visiting family prior to the cruise. Definitely looking forward to taking a break from the northeast. :)
