The cost is 3.50 USA dollars

7.00 USA dollars.

This is the exact reason my wife and I do not us US currency in Mexico. Locals will only give 10 pesos to the dollar. While this does not sound like a significant difference here is a little math.

35 pesos = $2.64 USD

70 pesos = $5.28 USD

If you spend $1000 USD in US currency during your trip you will lose $246 of it's conversion value because you will only get a 1 to 10 conversion. If you use Pesos you will GAIN significantly!

The more you spend in USD the more you lose. With a group you can potentially lose a lot.

Use the ATM Machines. You can get pesos and will get the current market conversion rate set by your Bank Card / MC / Visa.
