Transportation to/from Paradise Cove in Freeport

Hi,

We are sailing on the Carnival Sensation on Feb-7. We are stopping at Freeport for a few hours on Feb-8. We are interested in spending some time at the Paradise Cove beach. I know they have a shuttle service, but that may not suit us. How much would a taxi charge us to reach there from the dock or Port Lucaya marketplace? While coming back, would a taxi be easily available from there?

Thanks,

Vivek

Hi there,

A collective taxi to Lucaya Marketplace and the beaches across the road is $5 US per person. It drops you off in front of the casino. When you are ready to head back to the ship, you go back to the casion and catch another van back to the ship. The only downside is they only leave once they're full; in our case we waited about 20 minutes for that to happen.

I'm not sure that the OttowaTravelAgent answered your question very well.

Paradise Cove/Deadman's reef is in the OTHER direction from the ship from the shopping area and there are no "collective shuttles" to take you there.

Call Barry (the owner at Paradise Cove) and ask about how to go about taking a taxi there. It is likely his mom (family business) who will answer the phone and she is super nice and will have the answer you need. The shuttle that he provides is pretty close to "on demand". It seemed that the only time that they can't accomodate you is if their driver is busy picking up or dropping off at the same time that you would like to be somewhere.

You could even ask if they would be willing to pick up up at the shopping area instead of the ship.
