Spirit 5 Day Dailies

I have been looking for the 5 day dailies also. No luck. I would also like to see the 5 day menu. Hopefully some NCL cruiser will take pity on us and post it. In the mean time I will keep searching and if I find it will let you know.

Hi All......I suppose while we are all hoping for someone to help us I should bump this up back to the first page. Just maybe  it will work. If it doesn't I will start a new thread worded differently. (although the first thread could not have been worded any better.)

I guess nobody really takes the shorter cruises seriously.

Come on. Someone has got to get us some info?

This is really strange that we can't find them. I was hoping for them by our Feb. 27th sailing but I am beginning to think that we won't have them. If nobody finds them by the time I will get back, I will be sure to post them here.

I was on the 5-day and have the dailies, but I don't have a scanner so I can't get them to you. I would be glad to answer any questions that you may have. I am going away for the weekend though, so I will answer your questions on Sunday evening.

I thought the 5-day would fly by too fast, but we decided to enjoy every minute of the cruise and savor each day. It was a great cruise. You will love the Spirit.

PA Cruisers2....We have all been searching for info on the 5 dy cruise. Maybe you could also tell me about the menus. I have the 9 dy menu and I was wondering which 5 dys of the 9 were on your cruise?

I am also afraid the cruise will be over too soon! It has been awhile since I went for less than 7 dys but, I know I'll have a great time. Afterall, 5 dys on a cruise is much better than 0 dys :D

Formal Night: Optional Formal night was on Monday. We ate in Windows. The dress was about 40% formal, 60% nice casual. The food is great (in my opinion) in the regular restaurants. We did not eat in any special restaurants on this cruise, but on our last (on the Dawn) we ate in LeBistro once and it was very good. I guess if you want to treat yourself to something special once night (or more if you can afford the extra) go for it. The smaller restaurant atmosphere and special attention was nice. This last trip was a last minute deal and we were on a tight budget and didn't want to spend the extra $$$.

Excursions: In Grand Cayman we did the Reef and Stingray City Combo w/lunch. It was amazing. The stingrays are so soft and you get to feed them. If I ever go back I will certainly do this again. In Roatan we did the Catamaran & Beach excursion. That was a nice sail along the coast on a catamaran owned by a guy from Austria...very friendly. It isn't a dancing party boat, but they do serve drinks the whole time you are sailing. Then you go to a small beach with a beach front "cafe". We left out things there and then boarded a small boat which took us out to the reef where we did some snorkling. Then we came back to the cafe and were served lunch...beautiful setting. The local children are there to sell bracelets, etc. They are so cute..I bought a couple and gave them a dollar each to take their pictures. (they didn't ask for $$$...I just figures I would help them a little.....they were sooo happy!!) Just on a personal note...don't be afraid to "share your wealth". We Americans are so much more well off then they are!

Gas, by the way, is $4 a gallon!!!

We ate dinner with people who had been on the Zip line (don't know the name of it) but they had so much fun. You might want to consider this in Roatan.

Menus...Hummm. I remember there was lobster on the formal night (don't miss the creme brule...yummmmmy). There was filet minon (Chatu brion???), and an Italian night I think. I can't remember them all. I thought all the food was very good. And if you don't like something just let them know and they will bring you something else. I'm sorry I can't be of more help with this.

Yes, Shifra, 5 days on a cruise is MUCH better than 0 days! :D

PA Cruiser2 thank you so much for your help. I am glad you liked the Star. I have been very curious about her since she came to NCL. What type of cabin did you have? Are there any quiet places to hang out on the ship? Most important question is did you feel crowded on board?

Thanks again. :) As lovemylife said we are on the same cruise and I am so glad it is getting closer :D

Shifra...I hope I didn't post wrong. We were on the Spirit, not the Star. I hope the Spirit is the ship you are on because she is beautiful. I really didn't expect this ship to be as nice as the Dawn, since the Dawn was so new, but I would rate her very similar. Only thing is the pool area on the Spirit is not as large as the Dawn. The Spirit has lounge chair area around the pool and on the deck above the pool. On the Dawn there is an amphitheater effect at the far and on the pool with rows and rows of chairs....very nice!

Lovemylife...(and by the way, I love your name. Makes me think you are a happy person so you have a good time wherever you go). The buffet was never really crowded. We got a seat by the window most of the time. Here is a hint...you can get your food from the buffet and then bring it out to the aft (back) of the ship and eat out on the deck. There are tables out there and it is such a pretty place to enjoy your meal and be out in the fresh air at the same time. You can get a table in the sun or under the deck above, but you will still be outside.

The dinning room (Windows) was never cold. I did bring a sweater with me to dinner and to the shows, but I never needed it. I would bring one along on the trip and see what the temp is. You could always send DH back to your cabin if you get cold, or just carry it along. At times it is handy to have a sweater along to "save your seat". We got up to dance one time and someone took our seats in the lounge.

I never felt crowded on board. There were people there, of course, but it never felt like, "oh, my, where did all these people come from!" Most people were very happy, too...smiling and chatting in the elevators and on the short wait for dinner, etc. When I heard someone complain I would say, "I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your cruise." My DH always says, "You bring your happiness with you." or "You are responsible for your own happiness." We had a great time! I think you will enjoy this ship.

Ooooh I love the idea of breakfast outside!!!! We try to stay outside as much as possible when we're on vacation, I spend way too much time inside in the winter! Thanks for the tip about the ac, Mom is coming with us and she's always cold:cool: .

BTW, I have two great kids and a husband who loves me so I figure life is good!!

Thanks for the compliment...

I like your idea of so very nicely telling the gripers to "lighten up", life is too short to sweat the small stuff!!

Did you by any chance look into booking your next cruise while still onboard?

I'm looking at that nice shiny Jewel for next Spring.....:D

Lovemylife...We DID book our next cruise while on board. If you are thinking of doing this, make sure you sign up early for an appointment with the Future Cruise Desk. There is a sign up sheet in the lobby next to the Reception desk (just ask them if you can't find it.) We had our appoint on Thursday afternoon and we were one of the last to get an appointment. Some people wanted to book another cruise, but couldn't because the appointment schedule was full. (You could always cancel your appointment if you change your mind.)

You get to pick your cabin and you get on board credit. We have NCL Master Cards so we booked our cruise and our friends ($800 deposit each) so we got extra points for that towards our next cruise. That NCL Master Card is wonderful. You can read about that on other threads. Think about getting one if you don't already have one. We already have over 500 points (since last October) and that will mean $500 off our next cruise! Anyway...a hint...make sure you do some research and check out what the prices would be for the cabin you want ahead of time. I printed these out and after they quoted me a higher price, they lowered it. They were booking us for a higher balcony and we didn't really need that, so we took the lower balcony toward the front of the ship. Also, if you book while on board, you can cancel at any time up to three month before the cruise. That is when your final payment is due. After that you wouldn't get it back. (but then you should get insurance to cover any unforseen problem that would cause you to cancel.) We are sailing on the Dawn again next time since NY is so close to us and we don't have to add on flight fees. The Jewel sounds wonderful. Maybe some day we will take a spin on her!

Hope this helps.

I have been bitten by the cruise bug!

Oops I did mean the Spirit. I got my upcoming cruises mixed up. :o. I am so lucky that I can say that. :D I have a Princess & a Hal cruise this year after my Ncl cruise. From everything you have said about Spirit I know I will really enjoy her. This will be my first Ncl cruise and most likely not my last. :)

Thanks for the advice PA...does it matter whether the prices you print before you go are from NCL or a TA? Will they honor both, or just their own?

Hey Shifra, we still haven't gotten our docs yet...we booked through Sam's Club travel, would that make a difference in when they arrive?? Should I be concerned yet??

Still working on getting into that black dress and breathing. lol Look for me on the formal night, I'll be the one standing up throughout the meal!!!!!

No Docs? I got mine 2 or 3 wks ago, and as you know others on our cruise have received theirs. You may want to call your TA. Sometimes they get them and don't get them to you quickly. I tend to be a worrier type so I would start making phone calls.

Hello all. We are on the 3-27 Spirit and do not have our documents. Our TA said to expect them at the end of February. We added NCL air, and that may be the hold up. I hate to wish the time away, but we are sooo ready to go. Only 4 more weeks, if you round up!!!
