White Pass Rail & Gold Fields Tour (NCL)--Anyone take this tour?

Hello there-

We are looking at the White Pass Rail-Gold Fields tour through NCL. We all want to do the Train one way (too much train round trip) and a couple in our group want to pan for gold, so this seemed like a good compromise. I believe there is a brewery tour with sampling involved which is always a good thing. My question is "has anyone done this?" and is it worth the $205 price tag.

OR

should we consider theWhite Pass bus tour option and gold panning and photo ops for $80. Will we miss much doing the bus tour vs. rail tour? I believe the bus tour parallels the rail route.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
