Port Canaveral Car Rental

Will be on the GEM next week which includes the day in Port Canaveral. I am thinking about renting a car to drive to Space Center, etc. (on my own schedule) v. shore excursion. For those that have been to Port Canaveral, how do you go about renting a car? Are there car rental companies at the port? If so, which ones? Thanks

We have rented from budget and enterprise. Enterprise will pick you up.

as will Hertz and Avis and Alamo....they all send shuttles down to the pier....Avis closes early so its the least user friendly....

How much was the rental? We were thinking of doing the same thing on our cruise this fall.

7 passenger mini-van with neverlost GPS was $135 for the day. Not the cheapest by car rental standards but, for Cape Canaveral, it was the cheapest thing that could hold the whole family. First quote on the phone was $235 and I kept asking about discounts and asked for the agent to "look for a better rate" and we ended up at $135.
