St. Thomas Deals

I'm curious just how good of deals one could get in St. Thomas...:rolleyes:

What type of deal are you looking for?

I'm just wondering what other people have found down there. Personally, we're interested in a camera perhaps, maybe jewelry. I keep reading that there are really good deals on jewelry, electronics, cameras, etc... Just curious. :o

My experience has been that we have always done well with watches. I priced them here and in the various islands and the named brands have been less expensive in St Thomas, plus I saved the state sales tax. When it comes to gems I have had a different experience. You have to be real careful because the "DEALS" have been of lesser quality than I was able to purchase at home. Diamonds especially, they had more flaws which were apparent when you used a loop. Watches are good, but even the ship can have good deals on watches. Cameras are not as good - you can probably find comparable prices at some of the better camera web sites or even amazon. I tend to be pickier with camera purchases than watches, even though I am tougher on watches...

 

For our 25th anniversary, my wife got a new wedding ring in St. Thomas and she thinks she got a good deal (and that, we all know, is the important part).
