Booked on the Destiny...Wrap-Balcony for October. I'm hoping the Destiny is fixed soon.

But is a Wrap Aft Balcony worth the money?

Does anyone have pictures?

There will be 3 people staying in the room.

Thanks in Advance.

I've never stayed in a wrap but we loved our aft balcony on the Triumph. They were WAY larger than the standard starboard or port balconies.

There was a thread yesterday I think that showed the various aft-wrap balconies for several Carnival ship classes.

Take a look... if I find the thread I'll post a link.

They are worth it, as long as you enjoy spending time on your balcony. We have aft wraps for all cruises, and can't imagine going to regular size balcony. The views are amazing.

You will get different opinions on which deck is best but that' like comparing which flavor ice cream is better. Its still ice cream so it cant be that bad. Enjoy your cruise!

6 weeks till my next aft wrap!!!!

Our extended family (4 of us + MIL and FIL) shared 2 Cat-11 suites on the Legend last April. One aft-wrap (8268) and one immediately forward on the port side (8266). The suites and the balconies were awesome!!!! So much room. We had the divider opened, so we all enjoyed one HUGE balcony all week.

Well worth the extra cost IMHO. Even though we were directly beneath the Lido deck, we didn't have any problems with noise, nor did we see any of the "soot" that so many talk about.

Considered another aft-wrap for our upcoming Carnival Dream cruise, but they don't appear to be as large as those on the Legend, so we opted for 2 regular Cat-11 balcony suites.

The aft wrap is definitely worth it, especially if you like to spend a lot of time on the balcony. You definitely won't want to go back to a regular balcony after having the aft wrap.

Here is a pic of cabin 6373 balcony.

OP u mention you have 3 in your party, so do we; which is why i didn't book one.

PVP indicated that the bedding for 3 person on all the Destiny afts is a rollaway, i can't imagine how it would fit in the odd shaped room comfortably to allow easy movement w/i the cabin area.

there are several of the wrap aft cabins w/a queen bed vs the 2 twins, maybe those would be a better fit?

a couple posters here indicated that their young children were able to sleep on the smallish sofa, won't work for my 17 yo DS though

keishashadow,

The sofas are actually quite comfortable in the aft wraps that sleep three and plenty large enough for an adult. We've had several of them and though I am happy to report I've never had to sleep on the sofa, I easily could have if the DW had kicked me out of the bed.

lol

PVP insists that on the older Destiny, the sofas in the afts & balconies are smaller than a full size sofa (think slightly larger than love seat) & will not accommodate an adult. I had hoped for a trundle bed in one of the aft wraps on the Destiny; but he states that there are none.:(

Im not doubting what you state, just scared to book the room & have my kid's feet dangle for 5 days...what a fun trip that would be:rolleyes:. He fit nicely on the extended aft balcony ones on the Legend, that size would be perfect.

i've asked my PVP several times re the sofa on the Destiny in the wraps, he said it isn't they type an adult can sleep on comfortably and they don't book it as such:confused:. He states it's the exact same sofa in the balcony cabin i booked on the Lido deck, ergo the reason i needed to book a room w/an upper berth or go with a rollaway.

Sorry for the messy pic, but it was the first one I could locate of the couch made into a bed. This is from an aft wrap on deck 6 of Freedom. As you can see I didn't get the entire bed in the picture, but it's plenty big enough;

PVP did confirm that afts on the Freedom had full sized sofabeds. I'd switch but the mr wants the HMC/GTurk itinerary.

I'm not saying i know any of this info to be true via 1st hand experience, just relating what the PVP told me....i'd luv to book one of the wraps on the Destiny.

The couch on the Destiny is not like the couch on the newer ships. Our 3rd was our then-3 year old - the couch made a perfect-sized bed for him. There's no way anyone over 5 or 6 would be able to sleep on it.

It's kind of hard to see here. The couch is normally pushed up against the wall. We moved it against the window to keep our son from rolling out.

Our bed had a trundle underneath it. Your PVP was wrong.

thank to hill6, there's pics of what does to appear to be 'small' sofa in the aft wraps, picture #5 & # 7 (sorry, can't figure out how to post it here);)

I can agree that it was not a full size couch. It was loveseat size.

There was a trundle under the side of the bed closest to the sofa.

We totally loved it, but we cruised in Jan and it got chilly

the first and last nights. I think any other time of year

would be fantastic
