A Sixth? Posted February 21, 2010 #26 Share Posted February 21, 2010 Just wondering if a knife sharpening service is available on board It's the same place you go for fish or gun cleaning. :D:p:rolleyes::cool:
1 HappyCruiser Posted February 21, 2010 #27 Share Posted February 21, 2010 Leave it at home. Why would he even need it on a cruise ship? What would it be used for? Sorry - I'm one of those who just doesn't understand the obsession with pocket knives. To my knowledge, the cruise ships use the same type of scanners as airports do. Even if his "necessary" knife makes it onboard in checked luggage, he could have a real problem trying to re-board at a POC if he's carrying it. You're scanned every time you re-board. It's a hassle you can easily prevent. You obviously can't understand the need for all it's possible uses. I've been carrying my deadly pocket knife for years without any problems and never been questioned. It's totally different than boarding a plane. If they ban pocket knifes they better start handing out plastic knives in the dining room.

A Sixth? Posted February 21, 2010 #29 Share Posted February 21, 2010 Yes. I remember now it's that special line at the pursers desk - "knife passengers only" :D:eek: A Swiss Army Knife / Leatherman is to a knife, what a tool kit is to pistol. No special line needed. :D:cool:
CruisingGoddess Posted February 22, 2010 #30 Share Posted February 22, 2010 Really? Take a look at this: Cheers, VegasPier Yeah. Seen it. I know there are ways around it, just like people can pick the lock on your house's front door or jimmy your car door open but you still keep them locked, don't you? ;)
