Onboard entertainment when ships overnight?

Is there special entertainmenet onboard when ships stay overnight in a port or leave very late? For example, when we were in port in Buenos Aires, an Argentinian tango group was brought especially on board to entertain us. It was actually much better than some of the entertainment we had seen on shore on previous occasions.

So I was wondering if anyone, especially some of you passengers who sailed the Rotterdam in January, know if there is special entertainment in Hawaii & in Polynesia?

We are sailing on the Rotterdam on March 8 and would appreciate knowing if we can or should look forward to special shows, entertainment, etc. with a theme specific to the area?

TIA

Hi Joeclyn,

Usually in Honolulu they bring on the dancers, sometime it is a chidlren's group other times it is the retired folks who teach and dance for us. And they ususally bring on some real nice dancers for the show during the BBQ.

Last time we were in Papeete they brought a children's group to dance on the dock, we weren't pleased as most folks couldn't see it. Everyone lined up at the rail and no one could see over them. They have also brought Tahitian dancers on stage to entertain us. There will be some great local entertainment.
