Laptops - need a little help

Ok, I admit it, I'm a closet computer geek. I was glad to read the Valor has gone hi-tech and offers wireless service throughout the ship. I'm hoping and have my fingers crossed that the Liberty is going to have this same feature.

So, here's the question.... I've never traveled with my computer, can someone tell me how hard it is getting through airport and cruise port security with a laptop in tow? Keep in mind, I will be flying internationally since I'm on the maiden voyage on the Liberty. Thanks for any help.

I have flown w/ my computer a few times and cruised with it once.

 

I never had a problem. Just have it easily accessible at the airport because you will be required to take it out and send it down the belt by itself.

I've never traveled with my laptop internationally, but here in the U.S. it's not really a problem. At the airport, you will have to remove the computer from it's case before it goes through the x-ray machine. Security might ask you to power it up. I've never had that happen. On embarking a cruise ship, I simply send the laptop through the x-ray machine in its case just like any other piece of carryon luggage.

Travelling internationally with a laptop is the same as in the US -- I've taken mine to Europe twice and to Australia, with no problems. As someone said, just have it easily accessible for security to check -- I've had to turn mine on a couple of times for them. A little hassle, but worth it for the "something to do" on the long plane ride...
