Belize to Santo Tomas, Guatemala

We are on the Veendam leaving Feb. 5 out of Tampa. After visiting Belize we are going on to Santo Tomas, Guatemala. We cannot find any information about Santo Tomas. Has anyone been there or does anyone have information about this port? Do you have to take the ship's tours? Any help would be appreciated...... B & J

We were there 2 years ago.

 

We ended up taking a taxi to a resort with a "so so" beach, and a great pool. Actually, most of the fun action was right at the port.... they had vendors, dancers and a wonderful GALLO BEER tent. Big fun.

 

Plan on either staying at the port, or venturing out.

If you want to rest, you can´t forget spend a time in the new-cruise-terminal-to-be area. You have free transportation from the pier to this place!!!!
