Carnival excursion to Altun Ha question

which one ?? with the river wallace ride or the Belize City tour ?? is the boat worth the extra 20.00 pp ??

 

what happens on the river cruise ?? what kind of boat is it ?? is it covered if it rains ?

we just did this tour. no, the boat is NOT covered.

 

 

 

our group got the river tour first, we cruised up the river and then took buses to the ruins. other groups go to the site first, then cruise down the river back to port.

 

was it worth the extra $$$, I'm not sure. we enjoyed the river cruise, we loved seeing the animals. the place we stopped for lunch was very rustic and interesiting, but the lunch menu is very very limited.

 

we felt very rushed at the archeological site. we got a thorough tour from our guide, but there was no time to wander about the ruins on our own. I think that was because our ship was late in arriving at port that morning and we had a delay at lunchtime as well, the bus to the ruins arrived late.

 

and we had no time at all in the port area. I would have liked to have done some shopping.

We did the Altun Ha ruins and Belize City tour. We had plenty of time at the ruins, but the Belize City tour wasn't so hot, so I would go with the river cruise if we were to do it again. Also, no food on the Altun Ha/Belize City tour...so better pack a snack...it's a long time to go with only a bottled water for nourishment.
