maldenmusic Posted February 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Has anyone stayed at the Mobile, AL Howard Johnsons where they offer hotel guests the option of leaving their car parked at the hotel while they cruise? Do they shuttle you to the pier?:)

The HO-JO in Mobile is well.......let's just say well-used. :) I'd recommend one of the downtown hotels instead.
Cruzman Posted February 27, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Hampton Inn & Suites downtown has a park & ride cruise package that includes a shuttle. It's only a few blocks from the cruise terminal.
tking66 Posted February 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2010 We stayed at the Hampton in Mobile and got the park and cruise package. They called us a taxi and it was there waiting for us. The Hampton was great! When we arrived they had upgraded us to a suite for no additional charge.
MrsZee Posted February 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Check and see if the Renaissance Riverview is offering that rate for your cruise weekend. It's probably one of the nicest hotels in the area and when I priced it, I think it was 129 or 149... something like that. Really good deal and you can see the ship from your hotel room in the morning!
MrsZee Posted February 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Wish I had known about that Hampton Inn before I prepaid a Holiday Inn for 80 something. The Hampton Inn rate is only 119, if you subtract the 75 you would pay for the deck, you are essentially getting a very nice room for 44 bucks. Jolly Mon Posted February 28, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2010 As an Mobilian, I would have to ask you not to stay at the Ho-Jo. You will only be back here posting how awful Mobile is. My advice would be to stay at The Hampton Suites downtown and try to get a upper balcony room that will give you a view of the ship when you get up in the morning. You can enjoy your coffee watching the previous cruise passengers leaving. Then use the hotel's shuttle service.
lillian marie Posted February 28, 2010 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2010 We stayed at the Renaissance in downtown Mobile for the cruise and park package. It was great. The room was lovely and we had parking in a parking garage.
Geosgirl71 Posted February 28, 2010 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Thanks to all of the great advice here on the board, we are staying in the Renaissance next Saturday and Sunday night. We booked their park and cruise package. Sounds like, and looks like a really nice hotel!

Staying downtown will be much nicer and more convenient. Have fun!
maldenmusic Posted February 28, 2010 Author #11 Share Posted February 28, 2010 Thanks everyone. After doing my homework I definitely will NOT stay at the HoJo.
