Iceandaslice Posted March 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Hello everyone. We are looking at booking a nile cruise later this year and have read about the MS Nile Adventurer by Sanctuary Experiences. Has anyone travelled on this ship along the Nile or could suggest anything similar? It has recently been refurbished and the cruises appear to be 3/4 days from Abi to Aswan. If we did this we would have to fly into Cairo and join the ship in Luxor and end in Aswan. How easy are the transfers? Any advice as a self drive car journey will not be an option for us! We have styed in Cairo before so will not be looking to stay there again but open to suggestions post cruise.( in total 8 days) Again any help would be much appreciated. Thank you all for your help in advance!
shoshona2 Posted March 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Hi, We were on the Nile Adventurer for three nights in November during our Tauck Tour of Egypt and Jordan. It is an A&K river boat which had just came out of drydock. It is beautiful, the food is very, very good and the service and crew are exceptional. If you want to view the ship and its layout of cabins, you can look at the Tauck brochure, 2010 Exotics. Why don't you go on line to Tauck Tours and view the details of our trip to get some ideas. It was an awesome trip. Sheila
Iceandaslice Posted March 2, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Thank you so much for your prompt reply Sheila. Will be doing lots of homework tonight on that! Did you find transfer to the ship easy or was it part of your tour? Thanks again Kind regards Rachel.
shoshona2 Posted March 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2010 Hi Rachel, It was part of our tour -- everything was included -- even the coins for the toilets the whole two weeks. You have to pay to use the toilets everywhere. If you want any additional info, just email me at scorpiosheila at yahoo dot com. Sheila

shoshona2 Posted March 3, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Hi Rachel, What a wonderful experience for your cousin. Which Getty Museum -- the Getty Villa in Malibu or the Getty Museum in Brentwood (L.A.)? What kind of work will she be doing at the Getty? I live ten minutes from the Brentwood location. Iceandaslice Posted March 3, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted March 3, 2010 Hi Sheila! Wow what a small world. She is at the Brentwood Musuem in LA. Working in the Textile Centre as she was awarded the post-doctoral fellowship last Sept as part of the modern and contemporary art project. She is a amazing and if you are there again say hello from me! ( her name is Dr Emma Richardson). On cruise matters...I have checked out the website and it is fantastic thank you. The 12 day trip looks amazing so we may look at going in Jan next year when we have more time. It would be a shame to go all that way just for a week! Thanks again and our paths may cross again! Take care Rachel :)
