juanacruz Posted January 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2005 Has anyone taken one of those submarine tours that view the ship wrecks and fish? Was it worth it? Thanks,
rosej Posted January 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2005 In Grand Cayman we took the "semi-sub" (only part of it is underwater). It was one of the ship's tours (through Princess). We saw a wreck and numerous fish though very large glass windows. Then they opened the upper hatch and let people jump off the sub and snorkle for awhile. My husband loved that and it was fun watching him from underwater. We enjoyed this tour and would do it again. Not every semi-sub tour offers the snorkeling. So if that appeals to you...be sure and book that particular tour. In Hawaii, we did the "full sub" and went down 150 feet below the surface. That too was interesting. However, because of the cost, now that I've done it once, I don't know if I'd do it again. I actually think we saw more in the semi-sub. But then again it depends on the port.
