We'll be on a family group cruise on the Inspiration in July '05. I've read some reviews on another board that ranged from "awful" to "really liked it". Has anyone here been on the Inspiration recently? We'll have some young teens and children. What activities do they have for the teens? We went on a RCL cruise last summer and the teens loved the program there (disco, scavenger hunts, casino night, games) . How does Carnival's teen program compare? There will be one 12-year-old who will be VERY unhappy if he's separated from the 13-year-olds -- what are the age groups?

Some relatives of mine just came back from an Inspiration cruise with a large group. They absolutely loved it. Said the ship is very clean and well taken care of. They also said all of the kids really enjoyed camp Carnival. I have taken my kids on one cruise, they were 12 and 14 at the time, and they both had a blast. I don't remember the age groups, but I think I've heard people say they were flexible, in that if you had several 13 yr olds and one 12 yr old, and that put them in seperate groups, that they would allow the 12 yr old to go with the older group.

Regarding camp carnival age groups.........some counselors are not flexible on the age groups; probably depends on how many children are sailing that week. That being said, when we sailed, the age group was 12-15 (lots of activities) and 15-17 (limited activities, but enough to break the ice/make friends). As you can see there was overlapping for the 15 year olds.....now, I believe the age groups are 12-14, 15-17. Since they are experienced cruisers, they will find other things to do too, like ping pong, swimming, etc. I suggest early dinner for your group or the kids will miss out on some of the evening activities. I remember the 12-15 year olds had something going on until around 10pm. If you have late dinner, there will be little/no time to participate. Have fun.

EDITED: I just found my kids Camp Carnival schedule........there were some teen activities after 10pm, but mostly going to the show and late night movies. The activites during late dinner were swimming under the stars (although it was still light outside):) , pizza pig out and card games, disco.
