Help for St. Thomas airport and boarding

We were supposed to board the Victory tomorrow in San Juan. Airline called this afternoon saying that our flight to Philadelphia as canceled. The flight from PHI to San Juan was still a go. No way to get to PHI from St. Louis before flight leaves.

We are now flying in to St. Thomas on Monday. We arrive about 1:30pm.

What is the best way to get from the airport to the cruise port? Any idea how much a taxi would cost? 4 people and luggage.

What is the process like for boarding from a stop instead of the original embarkation city? We did have VIP boarding. Not sure if it will help any.

Thanks.

p.s. Yes, we should have flown in a day early.

what airline were you supposed to fly on and what time is the flight from PHL to SJU?

Sorry don't know anything about the airport in St Thomas.

Good Luck

Taxi is your only option. There are 2 cruise ship docks in St. Thomas. One is not far from the airport and the other is in Charlotte Amalie. Taxis are not expensive but it could take a half hour to get to Charlotte Amalie if there is traffic. Haven't been there in a few years but we always managed to get a taxi for 4 people with luggage with no problem. It's a nice little airport but very modern. Compared to the old rinky-dink airport this is quite lovely. Spent 18 winters in St. Thomas - love the island.

Flights were on US Air.

We were to leave STL about 7:20pm and due to arrive in PHI around 10:30am.

The flight from PHI to SJU was to leave around 11:45am. US AIR said there was weather issues that lead to canceling the flight. Kind of weird that the flight from PHI was still on, we just couldn't get to PHI.

After 3 different calls to US Air we got an agent how found flights and seats from Monday. Best thing (besides getting there) was that the flight did not cost us any more money.

My wife was working the phone while I was on the Internet. Besides STL, I tried to get a flight from CHI, KC and DFW on whatever airline I could think of.

We flew into St. Thomas a couple of years ago after a missed flight fiasco. When we got to St. Thomas the only Taxi's avaiable were shuttle vans. I will warn you that with our experience they packed them as full as they could so you were practically sitting on each others lap. Then they charged $20 per person.
