Help Airports Near Mobile Pier

I am planning to go on a Carnival Cruise out of Mobile for a wedding cruise.

 

I have a friend that lives in Pensacola and Kayak gives Pensacola as an alternative airport to Mobile. How far is it? I don't want to ask my friend for a ride over to the pier, so what other transportation options do I have?

 

How far is the Mobile pier from the Mobile Airport? Cost of a cab? Shuttle?

 

I will be travelling by myself from California--most of the wedding party are coming in from TN.

 

Any advice will be helpful.

Pensacola's airport is about 1.5 hours if traffic cooperates. Mobile's airport is about 30 minutes if traffic is good. You might try Mobile Bay Transportation for a shuttle. They serve Mobile and Pensacola.
