hartskys Posted March 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2010 How far of a walk is it where you can get on a bus from where you come off the cruise ship? Does the bus tell you where they are going? We would like to go to "Hell" :) and Seven Mile Beach but want to make sure we don't get on the wrong bus.
cdfl31 Posted March 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2010 There is a sticky at the top of this forum that has a lot of good information about the bus system that should answer your questions: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=449552
clackey Posted March 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2010 When you come out of the tenderdock compound, turn left and walk down the street a block or 2. The public transportation depot is on the right. Tell them where you want to go. When you are ready to return start walking down the road. When a van comes by and honks, wave and they will stop to pick you up. Just remember that they drive on the left side of the road.;) We did this last december and rode to Cemetary Beach at the far end of Seven Mile. There were maybe 20-25 people there. clackey Posted March 18, 2010 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2010 Clackey Thanks for the infothis is what We are planning to this Dec. What color is this van? How was the snorkeling ? Any stores close by Paul 270 days to go The vans that we used were white and had WB on the front for West Bay. These ran from Georgetown to West Bay and back. The snorkeling was fair at Cemetary Beach. Most of the coralheads and fish were a long distance out from the beach. I think that the better snorkeling is at Eden Rock or at one of the wrecks there in town. You can google Cayman snorkeling and read some of the stickys at the top of this page for more info. There was a grocery store, I think a Foster's, near Cemetary Beach.
drew sailbum Posted March 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 18, 2010 The public buses are of various sizes, shapes, and colours. The public bus depot is next to the yellow Waterfront Centre building on North Church Street. It is within easy walking distance of any of the three tender piers.
