lmmn Posted May 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2004 I am considering an E3 balcony for an Alaska cruise - Deck 7. Someone mentioned something about the top of the lifeboats...is this a major obstruction? Since we are trying to book another cabin on the same deck, just to move up to deck 8 would cost quite a bit more since we would have to upgrade both cabins. Nancyquilts Posted May 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2004 We were on deck 8 of the Brilliance - it just cost $20 per person to move up. We did talk to someone on deck 7. They said the lifeboat covers weren't in the way of looking out to sea. As they stick out about 10+ feet from the balcony, they do prevent seeing the water. We liked deck 8 because there was a bit of an overhang from deck 9, and that meant we could be in the shade a bit more. Nancy
justcruzin85374 Posted May 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2004 lmmm, I would suggest cat. E-1 on deck 7 or 8. The lifeboat overhang does not let you look straight down to the water, straight out is ok, but not down. The few extra dollars would be worth it for the E-1. *** Soveriegn 92 E.
