HAL vs Celebrity

Recommended Posts

I agree with Sammiedawg, if you post question here, the answers will be different than on the HAL board. We (in 50's)have been on Summit and on Statendam, both to Alaska. They both had good service with edge going to HAL, friendlier crew on HAL, but not bad on Summit. We liked food and all our dining room staff better on HAL, but did not have any bad night on Summit. Descriptions on menu items were great but never lived up to it. The non dining room choices on Summit are extremely limited in evening to sushi bar and pasta bar. Only other choice was that part of buffet is set aside for reservation sitdown menu from dining room but we found it hard to get in to. No other choices open. Even though we had mechanical problems and missed port time on Alaska cruise, I thought Summit was still pretty good, but my wife still thinks Statendam edged it out all around. Just one opinion.
