Children's passports...Do the parents sign them or do the kids print their names?

I apologize if this has been asked before; I couldn't find it on the boards. My children will be 8 and 5 when we travel this summer. They both are able to print their names. Should I have them print their names on their passports or should I sign their names?

 

I wasn't sure what to do...Thanks in advance for your help.

I had my two children print their name on their passports. No one ever quetioned it and a couple of times the customs officer commented on how nice the signature looked.

If your child is too young to sign, the parent prints the child's name and signs next to it.

If they are old enough to print, than they can do it themselves. It is only good for 5 years anyway for a kid's passport, so when you renew, they will be both old enough to have a "real" signature!
