Need Advice...

We are first time cruisers flying into Ft Lauderdale June 18th the day before our Carnival Liberty cruise which leaves out of Miami the 19th.I have family in Ft Lauderdale that we are going to stay with over night and then shes taking us to the port of Miami in the morning but heres the thing.....She cant leave work early to pick us up from Ft Lauderdale airport so Im trying to find the cheapest way to get from the airport to her house....What would you suggest???? Thanks so much

Where is her house - you said "cheapest" so I could reply with a combination of tri-rail, buses, and shoe leather---- Had you said "best value", which is what I would choose if I were the traveler, the answer might vary greatly!

 

Depending on the distance, number of people, and the packing habits of these people, you may be be better off with a taxi, shared-ride shuttle type of service, or just renting a car for a day (summer is "low season" here).

And by where, I don't mean an address, but a zip code should suffice in giving you good local information and options - South Florida doesn't exactly have the best public transit, so it is good to research early like you're doing!

 

One more thing - how early are you arriving? Have you considered a slightly later flight and just waiting patiently? Or does the relative work late?
