Zeno Posted March 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2010 Are there any nice resorts in Antigua that offer day passes? Thank you! Hawksbill Beach Resort has day passes. It is a VERY quiet old style Caribbean resort with 4 lovely beaches. There were no organized activities while we were there (which suited us just fine - we wanted relaxation). Lunch (included) was a variety of grilled things (fish, hamburgers, etc) + pasta + a few salads). We enjoyed it. Drinks were included. And watersports (kayaks). This resort is NOT suitable for someone who wants a lively atmosphere, a giant buffet and a beautiful pool (the pool is adequate but small). At Hawksbill the beaches and the lovely setting are the attraction I also believe that Jolly Beach has day passes.
West Coast Posted March 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2010 We've been to Jolly Beach. A private (pre arranged) cab cost us $70 r/t for our group of 4. Day pass @ Jolly Beach included unlimited drinks, cont. breakfast (snack) and full buffet lunch. It was nice. We are considering going back in May. Here's a link to thier passes: http://www.jollybeachresort.com/sites/S1/File/2009.21.08%20%20JBR%20Day%20Pass.pdf We did Pass #2 @ $60 per Adult. I read in another thread that a trip advisors report wasn't real favorable in regards to Jolly Beach. Did you have any problems?

mykel67 Posted March 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2010 Be sure to book your taxi in advance through the resort or at least find some other passengers to share the ride with. We could not find a driver who would take just two of us to a beach or resort-- they all wanted to be "hired" by a group for the day. We finally gave up and returned to the ship. It was our least favourite stop in the itinerary.

We left the ship after the crowd had disembarked (about an hour after disembarkation was announced) and had no problem getting a taxi to take us to Hawksbill. Maybe that's the trick - let everyone who wants a tour rush off the ship and then maybe whatever drivers are left will be glad to get any business - just guessing???
