Harvey R Posted March 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2010 Just returned from a 11 day Nile tour and cruise . Our ship was the MS Gaselle. If you are looking for a class oceann liner experience this is not it. This ship and others that qwe visited are well worn and small. The food and services are excellent, but if you are expecting formals dinners, entertainment, internet access, and larger rooms and bathrooms, you won't find that here. Now having said that. If you are in Egypt to explore the history, landscape, people interaction, it is wonderful. You have to put aside the fact that Cairo is very polluted and vendors are relentless. We had a remarkable experience during the tours. Even though it was exteremely hot. If you have any type of walking impairment or difficulty this tour will be difficult for you. Several people have inquired about the dress code on the ship. Daytime anything goes anywhere. The evening dinner does not allow shorts and flip flops. Other than that anything goes. We did see many people in shortd for dinner even though there was an obscure sign indicating otherwise. We did have an opportunity to walk thru the Tosca and it looks a long way from completion.( Mar 18th)

49er Posted March 24, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2010 Hello Harvey We were on a UniWorld cruise on the MS Miriam (the Gisele's sister ship) a few weeks ago and share your opinion about the ship, particularly the bathroom. You said you walked through the Tosca. Was she tied up with other Boats but still being worked on? When we sailed by her, she was still in the shipyard and it did look like she had a lot more work to be done. I believe she was supposed to be put back in service this past Monday (according to UniWorlds schedule). We really enjoyed our trip to Egypt as well. An unbelievable place! 49er
