x98bjv Posted March 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2010 Hi there - next year we can't go on a cruise because of timing issues, so we're looking at booking a Sandals resort which includes unlimited diving. We're looking at either Nassau, Bahamas, St. Lucia or Antigua. Can anyone give an opinion about which is the best for diving?
I Love RCI Posted March 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2010 I haven't dove Antigua or St. Lucia but I would rate the Bahamas as just okay...with all the novice divers in the area the reefs tend to have some damage. I would say its similiar to diving the Keys. Some great spots with a bunch of so-so spots. Good luck with your pick!
King Neptune Posted March 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2010 St. Lucia is a very highly rated dive spot. Of the three I would recommend there.

jamga02 Posted April 3, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2010 St. Lucia by far! Superman's Leap!
Pilot70D Posted April 3, 2010 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2010 St. Lucia is one of THE top dive stops in the Caribbean and yes, Superman's Flight there is a great dive. We did that dive for the second time last December. It was our fourth time to visit St. Lucia. While we were at the Superman's Flight dive site the dive boat form Sandal's pulled up. At that pont in time all of us were in the water and fixing to begin our descent. We completed the dive and by the time we got the last pair divers back aboard the Sandal's boat had already weighed anchor and was gone. Furthermore, their boat looked like a cattle car dive boat. You might want to find out from others who have stayed on the Sandals' properties what their experiences were and what the dive regimen with Sandals is like. I personally have an aversion to cattle car dives. IMHO you might be better off staying and playing at a different resort even if that means booking your dive package separately. I do believe that by so doing you will have more say about which dive sites you go to and what the profile is for those dives once you get there. Just a thought. For us the diving is the premiere thing and where we stay is secondary. No matter what you decide to do go enjoy that next dive trip.:):)
