Cruise Line reduced deposit offered by Agencies

I notice this morning that some online travel agencies are offering "reduced deposit" on some Holland America itineraries but others agencies are not.

 

Since the reduced deposit is offered by the Cruise Line itself , shouldn't all agencies offer it to their customers?

The problem with online aganecies is that there is no consistency. They all offer different things, and not all of them update their websites when the cruiselines offer a special. This would be to their detriment, not yours.

 

If you know the cruiseline is offering a special, and you chose to book online, you should still receive the reduced deposit. But what would be your incentive to book with them, if you didn't see it on their site?

And, you have to be sure HAL is actually offering the reduced deposit. Otherwise, all you're doing is giving $150 (or whatever) to your TA and HAL won't accept until they get their full $300pp. You really have to trust your TA in order to do this.
