BoardwalkBabe Posted August 22, 2010 #80 Share Posted August 22, 2010 Wearing their cruise card on a lanyard around their neck. Not necessarily. We're not newbies and I don't always have pockets so on a lanyard it goes during the day because it's convenient.

Tajma Posted September 5, 2010 #82 Share Posted September 5, 2010 Actually, I find seeing the "WOW!!!" reactions to be refreshing, knowing someone has had a momentously impressive moment on what will hopefully be a cruise PACKED with many more such moments. Well said!!!! And knowing they will soon be cruise addicts like the rest of us. :)
frostwalker Posted September 8, 2010 #83 Share Posted September 8, 2010 I've been on 12 cruises and I swear that the instructions are to put your life jacket on, and then proceed quickly and safely to your muster station...not drag the jacket along behind you so the pax behind you trip on the straps... Yep. Sounds like we're birds of a feather. I'm a directions follower and never like to be the cause of confusion and delay. I also think following directions correctly shows greater intelligence and we'd probably survive better in emergency situations.

That person/s, could not have been the 'Sweet Young Thing' who, after LBD, still wearing her life jacket came up to me, and asked me to read her cabin number to her, off her life jacket!:D john
skypilot52 Posted September 9, 2010 #85 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Try to remember that everyone had to have a first time. Here is a tip, though, if you want to not experience a hangover, which can be really nasty on a rolling ship, DON'T SOBER UP TILL YOU HIT HOME PORT". That way you'll only have one to deal with:cool::cool: 3
realtyexecdeb Posted September 10, 2010 #86 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Right On! I'm going on my 19th cruise at the end of this month.... Dadmech Posted September 11, 2010 #88 Share Posted September 11, 2010 Instead of focusing on having their own fun, they keep looking around at others and pointing out how unsophisticated the supposed "virgins" are as compared to their own jaded, world-weary selves.:p Actually, I find seeing the "WOW!!!" reactions to be refreshing, knowing someone has had a momentously impressive moment on what will hopefully be a cruise PACKED with many more such moments. I want to be on the same cruise as you are.:) Not looking down on people. Did all these others become "Old Salts" without a first cruise? Just let me gawk and Ahhh and Ohhhh and you do your thing.

amedawn Posted September 13, 2010 #90 Share Posted September 13, 2010 I think I would prefer a lanyard to some of the places I saw women pulling their s&s cards from last week! The poor waiters who had to touch the cards after they pulled them from their bra! I would be totally grossed out.
grumpyjr88 Posted September 15, 2010 #91 Share Posted September 15, 2010 Newbies buy their lanyards from the gift shop. Old salts get the free one from the casino... amedawn, I saw you post that you were on the same cruise we were last week. I'm trying to decide if you were the girl at the lido deck calling for Joe Joe at the same time we were. LOL

mum4romessex Posted September 16, 2010 #93 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Sorry, but i would not feel dressed without a clutch/evening bag. I would carry essentials such as my Inhaler, Keycard and of course Lipstick. Viv

cruisin_cutie Posted September 21, 2010 #97 Share Posted September 21, 2010 after reading a lot of these, i think id rather be a newbie! it almost sounds like the 'old salts' dont get the rush of excitement that a newbie gets :( and they spend a wee bit too much time eyerolling at what the think is silly 'virgin' behavior! pls dont flame me though, just mho :) since its been 4 yrs since my last, i think ill be a good mix of both, not making mistakes (thinking the sail away drink are free ) but also having the rediculous giddyness (word??) and excitement that the virgins get!! :D

In fact I'm quite sure quite a few of them wouldn't mind fetching it themselves from there:) 1
