Kayak Safari - Carnival legend

We will be in Grand Cayman the beginning of May. Having spent time there before we have done most of the types of tours offered before except for a kayaking one. I will be traveling on the Carnival Legend and was wondering if anyone had taken this and could give me the pro's and cons of doing it via the Cruise line or via a private company. Anyone suggestions as to who would be a good private firm to look at? Thanks for all the help!

We just booked the Kayak Safari through Carnival. We had looked at several places on the internet and checked out reviews on some other sites and sent an e-mail to Surfside Aquatic Sports - and it turns out this is the same operation that Carnival uses. The cost is the same whether you book with him or with Carnival, and he suggested that we book through the ship.

We'll come back and let you know how it was!

We are wanting to do this same excursion while on the Legend in Oct. It sounds like fun and a little different from just lying on the beach. When you post back with your review, could you let us know if we would have enough time to visit Margaritaville afterwards. Thanks Rick & Cari. Oh, thanks to the OP too, we asked this same excursion question a few months ago and did not get a response. :)

Rick and Cari - will do - it looks like we will have a few hours after the kayaking to walk around a bit but we'll let you know when we return.

MBM - looks like you'll need to flag us down as we get off the ship - you board the day we get back!! I got some information from another thread - they said that it was a bit of a workout (more than they expected) and that the snorkeling wasn't the best but that it was a good time.

Maybe someone else will have better information than what I have right now and let us know for sure!
