1500cc Posted March 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2010 We're sailing tomorrow afternoon, so no time left to book ahead ... what are our options? Searching on here, it doesn't look like we can book through Carnival. Is there a booth or something when we get off the ship in Cozumel? Can we just take a taxi there and hope? Other suggestions? Mr. Finney Posted April 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2010 From what I've read, you should be able to do that, unless there are a lot of ships in port that day.

Searching on here, it doesn't look like we can book through Carnival. Is there a booth or something when we get off the ship in Cozumel? Can we just take a taxi there and hope? Other suggestions? Nachi Cocom is booked online through Island Marketing at the following website: http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/cozumelbeachbreak.htm They do not book at the port.. There have been some people in the past who stated that they were just able to show up and pay to get in but that is not the norm for the place...and I have not verified that to be true. And they only take 100 people max per day.. so when they are full... that's it. We first went there in July 2008 and will be back next week. I am going to ask about the last minute 'arrivals' though and how they handle them... if there is room...
mylove Posted April 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2010 I have seen folks turned away that just showed up,so it was a waste of cab fare, also its no longer 100 people they lowered it to 80. Kimberley

Kimberley Hi Kim, Did you hear that recently at Nachi or read it somewhere? They website for Island Marketing still lists it as 100 max.. I'm going next week... guess I'll ask there .. mylove Posted April 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2010 One of the people that just returned from Nachi told me,I believe it was under the Nachi reviews, probably about three weeks ago.I really think this is a good idea, one time we went there were no palapas left so we had a table, little disappointed but we still had an awesome time. When you get lemons make lemonade right???:) Kimberley

mylove Posted April 2, 2010 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2010 Yep we'll be there soon also, this will be our fourth time so we LOVE NACHI!!!! I tell people I've been all over the world but Nachi is one of my most favorites.E-mail island marketing maybe they can tell you if the the amount of people went down to eighty, some posts you have to take with a grain of salt but I for one think 80 is a good no#.:) Kimberly
coastiewifern Posted April 3, 2010 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2010 I emailed my request yesterday afternoon to see if they had by ANY chance openings for next week. No response yet. Leaving tomorrow.....hope to hear something soon. If we cannot get in there where should we go?
mylove Posted April 3, 2010 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2010 sometimes it takes a couple days to get a response, they will respond if they have vacancy and if they don't.There are some great other beaches you could go to,the only other one we have been to other than Nachi is Paradise beach. We enjoyed our day there, not really sure if they offer an AI though.I do hope you can get into Nachi, its just wonderful. Trailblazers Posted April 10, 2010 #11 Share Posted April 10, 2010 Just got back from our cruise on Grandeur of the Seas. Our second trip to Nachi Cocom was better than our first in 2008. The pool, hot tub, swim up bar and outdoor covered dining area were as nice as before. They completed a new building that they were working on when we last were there. It is a water sports and gift shop and fits nicely in with the design of the place. The servers were attentive and this time we had Jose but saw our server Carlos from the last time and spoke to him for awhile. The food and drinks were as good as ever. There were about 40 people or so by time we left. They were also building new Palapas down the far end of the beach from the pool - so more people will be coming in the future. I cannot see how they may have reduced the # of people they are taking - and yet building 10 or so new Palapas. But - we never asked about it. I cannot say enough good things about Nachi Cocom and will go back again in the future. Some couples and families that arrived after we did commented on how perfect the place was - and we agreed. -John
1500cc Posted April 15, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted April 15, 2010 Just to close the loop, yes you can just walk up. Since we didn't book ahead, and there was little to do at the port in Cozumel, we chanced a cab ride. Cabbie didn't ask to see our reservation or anything. When we got there the cabbie walked us in, and the Nachi staff happily accepted our $98. This was a Saturday, and I don't think there were more than about 20 people there. We're definitely glad we took a chance on the cab ride. Awesome place.

mylove Posted April 16, 2010 #14 Share Posted April 16, 2010 yes you can take the chance of doing that, but when we were there people were turned away twice, and they were a little upset because it cost them a cab ride back and forth,15.00 each way. Kimberley
Silverscreencruiser Posted April 18, 2010 #15 Share Posted April 18, 2010 If you book through Island Marketing, Island Marketing keeps that $12 deposit as their commission. If you go directly to them they keep the whole thing, so what do you think they're going to do? If they don't have a crowd, they'll take you but you do run the risk if they're booked pretty full of being turned away. One good thing about the place is that it's only a short distance from some other beach clubs so your best bet would be to keep the cab driver there until you're sure you can get in, otherwise get back in the cab and go to another club. Kimberley This is the response I got from Nachi regarding the day it poured in Cozumel. I charged the deposit for 4 of us - $12 each, to reserve our spots. The balance ($49/each) is paid when you arrive there. Good Morning, We have placed your deposit on file which you may use towards a future tour deposit in any of the ports that we service. Many thanks and we will look forward to serving you again in the near future.
