group rates?

Recommended Posts

Just off Oasis-- see review " Oasis with twin 6 year-olds" -- already planning to take Allure next year and hoping to drag along many friends and neighbors --what are min. sizes for a group discount and is it worth the effort to take the lead for a large number of people?

To me it is really not worth it. They give you one free person free after 8 cabins which I divide up between the cabins which does not really come to much per cabin unless you have everyone staying in suites. The discount is based on whichever cabins you have booked the most of, like inside, outside, balcony or suites. Hopes this helps. We just go in groups because we all like to vacation together but not for the discount.

Royal Caribbean does not give discounts on the price you see online for booking groups. The prices are the same but you can earn a tour conductor and might possibly also be able to receive GAP points for extras like an OBC, bottle of wine, etc.

A groups is at least 8 cabins with 16 people. The tour conductor would be the cruise fare only for one person without taxes and non-commissionables based on the most cabins booked as linda nj stated. It is not a fully "free" fare - you still pay taxes and other fees.

There is work required as the group leader - whoever is the group leader is the liason for the entire group. You will be the one that needs to relay information to everyone in the group about the cruise and issues that may come up.
