Smoking on the Freedom

I am a non smoker, but a member of our group is a smoker. My question is, are there smoking rooms, or do the smokers go outside on the balcony? I know on deck there are smoking areas, but wasn't sure about rooms..

Carnival has designated smoking areas that are pretty consistant ship to ship.

On the Freedom, some of the designated smoking areas are the casino, sports bar, piano bar, disco, cover lounge bar and outside on the Starboard side by the pool.

There is smoking allowed in all cabins and on the balconies...but smoking in the hallway is prohibited ...so no propping the cabin door open into the hallway.

Walking from venue to venue is not allowed....which is why they have designed smoking areas.

I believe in the casino it is restricted to "on the carpet" and not allowed in one small part of the casino designed as nonsmoking.

No smoking in the dining rooms and theaters.\

Smoking allowed in most of the bars - Habana (it's a 'cigar lounge'), piano bar, casino.

Smoking allowed on one side of the ship outdoors - think it's starboard.

I found the casino pretty well ventilated - even though smoking is allowed, the smell isn't as obnoxious as on some other ships (I'm thinking especially of Carnival Legend, which was pretty nasty)

As best as I can remember, they did when we were there.....

the only thing different about the Splendor that I remember (except the obvious Spa Cabins and Balconies being nonsmoking)...

is that the entire Lido is nonsmoking (because it has a retractable roof and is considered an interior space)....

Now that being said...I usually don't go into the disco...so I am probably not the best person to ask...:o
