Which is the most economical and reliable form of transportation to get from MIA to the Holiday Inn-Port of Miami hotel? We will be arriving at MIA at 11:30pm on Friday night..Looks like both Taxi and Shuttle is readily available, which is preferred for 3 people with one large suitcase each and one carry-on each..

Thanks

Taxi, without question. There are a ton at MIA and charge a flat rate. They'll put you in a van-size taxi if they have any concerns about the luggage fitting. One of you may have to sit up front with the driver, which is an adventure all in itself, LOL.

Correction - it is a flat rate (approx $25) from the Miami airport to the Port of Miami - but NOT to the Holiday Inn (or any hotel for that matter). That being said the metered cost is about the same (approx $30 I think) so definitely taxi is the way to go.

Another possibly cheaper option is to try SAS shuttle service and see if they will provide this service: http://www.ridesas.com

SAS doesn't have the permits to run out of/into MIA, only FLL.

correct. I saw this posted earlier on another thread and posted the same as you. Not sure if it was the same poster though.

Definitely take the taxi. As mentioned above it is within a couple dollars of what the metered rate would be.

Taxi will be cheaper if the 3 of you split the cost. It should be a flat rate of $24 from the Miami airport to downtown hotel.

It's only a flat rate if going to the port. To hotels it's metered but pretty close to $24-$30 depending on the hotel.
