wine and liquour are sold in supermarkets in Puerto Rico, you can find a wide selection of chilean (they are very popular in PR), argentinian, spanish (big selection of riojas), german and also californian wines. there are some speciality wine stores but they are not located in the historic district.

orquidia: thanks for the info on the wine, also wanted to ask your advice on the hotel that we are staying the night before the cruise departs. It is called the numero uno in ocean park. We read nice things about it and i booked it for our two couples. restaurant at the property is also supposed to be nice. what are your thoughts? thanks again

orquidia: thanks, would there be a nice wine shop between the airport and the the cruise dock for celebrity?? thanks again.......

the specialty wine shops i know are not located in that area, they are located in guaynabo and hato rey. but if you are not looking for an specific year/reserve the supermarkets here have a wide selection, specially those who operate 24 hours in isla verde and condado which have a triple aisle for wines and gourment food.

it is a nice guesthouse right in front of the beach, it also has a beachfront restaurant indoor/outdoor , very nice and romantic during evening since it is right on the beach. it is a great place if you want to be on the beach, in the city, but not in a big chain hotel with 500 hundred people around you. walking distance there is a vegetarian restaurant and also there is a panaderia y reposteria walking distance which are spanish style bakeries/coffee shop/deli (they also sell wine and liquor), they serve great puerto rican coffee with a mallorca, which is what many puerto ricans have for breakfast.
