Flying into Florida on June 5th what should we do?

We are staying at Marriott Courtyard Tampa Downtown, it's about 1 mile from the Cruise Port and there is a shuttle that will take us there on June 6th. However we are flying in from Illinois on June 5th I'm thinking our plane lands around 12:30 or so, but the time has changed, so give or take.

What should we do for the rest of the day? I've been told about the Florida Aquarium, Fort De Soto Park, and The Pier. I'm just wondering what ya'll suggest, what there is to do at the place and why you like it?

A little bit about us our ages are 22, 22, 21 if that helps. We are the outdoorsy type people. So I'm thinking that Fort De Soto might be the place for us. But we are VERY open to other options. So please feel free to toss somethin out there, we would appreciate it!
