peter_krynicki Posted April 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2010 My husband are going on our carnival cruise in May. I'm very interested in the Big 3 excursion AND the snuba. I haven't seen any helpful reviews yet. Would appreciate reviews of both to help us decide..Thank you in advance i was invited to go out on a SNUBA trip one year but could not make it, but talking to the operator made it sound like a safe and fun trip. There are a few positive reviews or comments and I haven't noticed any negatives. The thing to realize is that you would have to take a cab there and back unless they will pick you up... "Our boat, Miss Sunshine, is located at the Garrison Bight Marina on Palm Ave. between N. Roosevelt Blvd. and Eaton St. The boat is parked in slip # 7. Parking is FREE. Please arrive 15 minutes before departure time. " I don't know that the Big Three is. Pjk
bamanga Posted April 12, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted April 12, 2010 Getting to the snuba excursion shouldn't be a problem since I'll book it through the cruise. I'm too nervous to book outside of cruise this time. The Big 3 is described as follows: Experience three of the most popular activities in the Florida Keys, rolled into one amazing excursion. On this excursion you will: Board a boat for the first leg of “The Big 3”, a cruise along the wildlife sanctuary off Key West. Explore this area scattered with uninhabited islands and home to a variety of marine and bird life. Next, get in your kayak and paddle through the mangroves while you glide over the crystal clear waters. Then, don your snorkel equipment and jump into the ocean. Discover the coral and fish that inhabit the waters of the Florida Keys. Get back on the boat and cruise by a special area known by locals as “the Dolphin Playground”. Observe the dolphins in their natural environment, no cages or pools here. Enjoy a true Florida Keys experience! Note: Minimum age is 5 years; children must be accompanied by an adult. Dolphins will only be observed; they will not be fed. All snorkel and kayak equipment is included, as well as, sodas and water.
peter_krynicki Posted April 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2010 I do two trips like the Big 3 each trip to Key West, the Sebago Island T'Ing and the Danger Charters all-day trip, and enjoy them very much. Fury also does a similar trip, the Island Adventure IIRC. If the Big 3 is anything like these I'd do it and save SNUBA for another day. To some extent it would depend on the weather. You'd want a nice calm day so that kayaking isn't too strenuous and so that you snorkeling with not too much of a swell. Pjk
