Hey all! Having previously sailed Disney Cruise line twice in the last couple of years while vacationing with our daughter, we are planning an adults only cruise in September to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday! We're thinking Valor in a balcony cabin. Which level and area of the ship do you recommend? Front? Back? Middle? 6?7?8? We have only ever experienced inside state rooms so I am sure we will be happy just to have a Balcony! Does the Valor offer anytime dining? Are all restaraunts on board included? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

My choice would be deck 7 or 8. Those decks have cabins above and cabins below, so no worry about noise from public places. Midship would be ideal, but you'll pay more (location, location, location). Have done foreward, midship and aft. Foreword cabins are further from the dining rooms. The Valor does have a steakhouse, for which you pay $30 per person more, if you choose to dine there.

I would recommend deck 7 since you are sandwiched between passenter decks so no public spaces above or below....midships is great too! If you choose deck 8 just make sure you have cabins above you - not the pool/deck/buffet areas as they can be very noisy! Another option is deck 9 - Lido - half the deck has cabins - the other half is the pool, buffet, hot tubs etc so you are right where all the action is.

Hi smyemar and congrats on your new cruise in September. :)

My husband and I will be taking our first cruise aboard the Conquest in August so I know the trepidations you're feeling about the ship, cabin placement, etc.. It can become a nightmare if you let it. Thankfully I found Cruise Critic and now my worries, at least as far as our cabin is concerned, are over.

The Conquest and the Valor are in the same class so the information I've gathered could equally apply to you, keep in mind we have yet to sail so this is all second hand information.

For our situation we were mainly concerned about motion sickness. I spoke with Carnival directly and they suggested that we stay at least mid-ship on back to aft. We're currently booked in an 8b Balcony cabin on the Empress Deck (Deck 7, port side), which is the middle of the ship, level wise, and there is nothing above or beneath you but staterooms, so you don't have to worry about having the casino or lido deck noises/distractions to contend with.

The Carnival Rep said that sea sickness was more prevalent the higher up you go and the more forward you are on the ship. So that helped us avoid going to the Spa Deck which seemed like a wonderful idea at first but one we would probably regret. Again, I haven't experienced this so someone else might be more helpful but that's what Carnival told me.

Here is a list of questionable room locations aboard the Conquest class ships. Actually, if you're on a cruise there is really no "Bad" room I guess. lol. :D

We were on the Freedom (Conquest Class) last month and had a balcony (1060). I was a very quiet location yet very near all the action on the lido deck. We did experience some movement one night (took dramamine before bed as a precaution and slept like a baby) but seems like everyone on the ship was talking about it not just us on 10th. We actually booked an inside and were offered to upgrade at a reasonable price and took it. I would jump at the chance to have a balcony on 10th deck again!!

If you are prone to motion sickness, you'll want to get a cabin midship as low as possible.

On the Conquest, same class of ship, we had cabin 6315, a balcony. Great location. Just a few cabins down from the elevators. Don't get too close to the elevators. Too noisy.

As other noted, be aware of what is above and below you. You will want to avoid cabins across from the guest laundry too.

Just curious where did you get all of this information about the rooms? I'd like something like that for the dream.

We were on the Lido deck, closest to the pool and it was great! Just a few steps away from the pool, bar and the food. :)

We had cabins right above us, which was great.

Another perk was that the laundry room was across the hall. I am an iron fanatic, so that's important to me. LOL.

I had thought that any noise from the pool area, which includes movies under the stars, would be an issue, but it wasn't at all.

Wherever you pick, have a blast!

We were on the Valor last October in room 9287. Fantastic location. Never felt any movement. It was exceptionally quiet and so close to everything! My next choice would be on Deck 7 pretty much anywhere not near an elevator or other potentially noisy area.

We'll be on the Upper deck on the Liberty (another sister ship to Valor) and I'm nervous about being over the show room...but I figure the shows will all be done by midnight when I normally go to bed. Not as many quad balconies to choose from as doubles so we will be happy with what we have :)

Have a great cruise! You'll love the Valor!

On the Valor, you will not want to go with Deck 8, unless you are in the front of the ship, since the pool deck and buffet is right above Deck 8 except in the front. Deck 7, mid-ship, far away from elevators, is a great location. That's where we stayed on the Valor. We never heard any noise, even though Richard Simmons was staying just down the hall from us. Lido deck balconies and higher would be good spots too, but they are more expensive. From Deck 7, you're 2 floors above the promenade and 2 floors below the pool & buffet.

Sweet_Tea, I'm also very interested in knowing where to find that kind of information on rooms.
