parody Posted February 3, 2005 #26 Share Posted February 3, 2005 Saturday, St Thomas 2nd visit. I was a little worried since there were 4 ships in port Actually, depending on your definition of a "ship", there were 7 ships in port on Saturday, January 29. Most of the ships were docked at the main WICO (West Indian Co.) pier; others at the CBHP (Crown Bay home port) dock. For details about who these ships were, what are their passenger capacities, what time were they scheduled to arrive and depart, what ports they were coming from and what ports they were going to, see http://www.ships.vi/stt/jan_2005.htm. For information about the location of these 2 facilities where cruise ships dock, go to http://www.usvi-on-line.com/st/stmap.shtml
jcruise67 Posted February 5, 2005 #27 Share Posted February 5, 2005 Where is the Golden docked in regard to the location of the Sheraton Old San Juan? John
Clubber Posted February 5, 2005 #28 Share Posted February 5, 2005 The Golden docks at the Pan American Pier which is on the opposite side of the Bay from the Sheraton Old San Juan and about a mile East. It's a quick cab ride.
jcruise67 Posted February 5, 2005 #29 Share Posted February 5, 2005 What amenities are offered at the Pan Am pier? Do they have shops or a liquor store? Do they have a bar that you can hang out in prior to boarding? I appreciate your input. John
Clubber Posted February 6, 2005 #30 Share Posted February 6, 2005 There is nothing at the Pan Am Pier when it comes to shopping. It's right at a small airport so nothing is around. I'm curious about a duty free liquor store within the Princess terminal? We went on the AOS last week which docks right next to the Golden and we did not have a liquor store. So, those of you who have been on the Golden out of the Pan Am Pier, Is there a duty free liquor store available within the Princess terminal? Here is an aerial photo I modified for Old San Juan with the Piers and a few of the hotels. http://www.langland.org/graphics/sanjuan.gif

Clubber Posted February 7, 2005 #33 Share Posted February 7, 2005 Thanks for the info. We were expecting one this year and it wasn't there. Then we tried to figure out how to get in the Princess terminal, but couldn't without going outside security. I'll spread the news to our cruisemates for next year joining us on the Golden. They'll be very happy.
