pikabu Posted May 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Hello!! Leaving for my first cruise on the Jewel this Saturday!! Question: how is the temperature inside the ship in the common areas? Is it like Vegas where they blast the AC, and you need to wear a long sleeve even though it's like 80 plus degrees outside? I am essentially wondering if I need to bring a sweater for when we are in the lounge, casino, theatre, etc. Also, is there individual temperature control (thermostat) in each room? Will we be able to raiser or lower the temp in our inside stateroom? Appreciate any answers... Thank you!! pikabu :)
Don Haynes Posted May 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Pack your sweater just in case as they do tend to keep the ship cool inside.

dtiger Posted May 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2010 I've found the theater at times to be cold on the ships so bring a sweater just in case.
PIPER50 Posted May 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Yes I agree with previous posters, you would be advised to bring along something warm as I found it chilly in some of the dinning rooms

You'll love the ship, but you may find it COLD, especially in the evenings! They must lower the A/C since it was very hot during our cruise! There is a thermostat in your room! Don't keep it on the coldest, because you will freeze whenever you come back to your room! We learned that after a day or two! Even my DH who is rarely cold said the room/public areas are too cold!! The beds are 'freezing' at night..cold sheets and cold pillows. Wish I had warmer nightgowns! I usually wore blouses with med/long sleeves and always carried a wrap or sweater. Theatre is cold and casino also! Once you adjust, you'll love the cruise, I'm sure! Happy and safe sails and let us know all about it upon your return. mousey Posted May 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Recently sailed on the POA in Hawaii and yes you can adjust the temperature in your cabin, but the rest of the ship was COLD! So, take a sweater, sweatshirt and at least one pair of long pants if you have a tendency to be cold.:D

LJH1 Posted May 13, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 13, 2010 They have to keep the common areas colder in order to keep germs/virus at bay.
