deucbmac Posted June 2, 2010 Author #227 Share Posted June 2, 2010 So.... I've heard a rumor that our beautiful Pride is gonna be pulling out of Baltimore. Is there any truth to that? Anyone know? The last cruise that Sammy can find is the April 24 til May 1st. But no cruises listed after that. Now, I have a felling that it ain't going anywhere. Maybe to Freeport for a few months for some dry-dock work? That new Aft Serenity deck? That's what I'm thinking! I'm gonna go positive. Someone Please Enlighten!!!!!

deucbmac Posted June 2, 2010 Author #229 Share Posted June 2, 2010 So, Mom and Sis caught the bus out to the Kennedy Space center and got a tour of just about everything. The Space Shuttle Atlantis was on the pad for Launch on Friday May 14th. I don't know all the details about the launch or the excursion but I will post the pictures! labtech Posted June 2, 2010 #232 Share Posted June 2, 2010 After a dream filled night and the OH MY GOD bed, I woke up around 8:30 and grabbed a quick shower. Sam was still sleeping so I snatched the camera and away I went. Up to check out the aft Lido, Deck 9. I decided some coffee was in order so I grabbed a cup and began heading to my favorite part of the ship. The Front. And now looking back toward the Aft. The OH MY GOD bed?????? My bed was so hard I couldn't hardly walk each morning!!! I was very disappointed because the bed on the Imagination was to die for!!! My friends couldn't sleep very well either!! However, the comforter was just as I remembered! But a backache on the Pride beats one at home anytime!!!

usafchick1980 Posted June 2, 2010 #234 Share Posted June 2, 2010 Great review....ThanksWe're on the 6/20 sailing....also Deck 5 Aft Balcony....three cabins........ Want to put small erasable message boards on each outside door.....Could you tell me if magnets or painter's tape would work best..............Also, would a bungee cord work to keep the balcony door open? what size? Thanks.....Marty I will be on the ship with you. We are also going on the Pride on 6/20 and I can not wait. We are all so excited. And I am even more excited now after seeing all of these pics. I am on the 1st floor. My mom, sister, and nephew are all on an aft balcony I think 7th floor. My boyfriend and I wanted to go cheap so we got an interior room. We are the only ones in our party that don't at least have a window. There are 5 rooms in our party..1 interior, 1 window room, and 3 balconies. That's the best place to correspond with those on your exact sailing....Marty

deucbmac Posted June 3, 2010 Author #243 Share Posted June 3, 2010 Alright, so enough with the Nasa Excursion. They had a blast , however time for our trip to Ron Jon's and Cocoa Beach. So, we woke up at about 7:30 to the Knockin on the door from our morning room service. I signed the receipt and hopped in the shower. The wife woke up and ate some bagel, drank some coffee and checked out the Fun Times for the day, even though it was really gonna be of no use til night time. Once I got out and the wife got into the shower, I got busy with the coffee, bagel and the Fun Times. We got ready and made our way next door to find Pops and away we were. We had signed up for the 9:30 departure so we headed down to the Riveria Deck, and off the ship we went. We ran into some Cruise Critic Roll call buddys and hopped the bus to the Ron Jon. The people were real friendly on the bus, and we made it to the beach in about 10-15 minutes. They dropped us off in a parking lot, gave us a quick speech of what places where in the area and told us that the bus would pick us up in the same parking lot. We got off the bus and decided to head over to a local CVS pharmacy to pick up some more sunscreen and other stuff. After leaving we figured that we would just hit up the Ron Jon and then hit the beach.
deucbmac Posted June 3, 2010 Author #244 Share Posted June 3, 2010 We walked through the gigantic, about small Wal-Mart style with two stories, structure and checked out all the clothes, souvenirs, and my favorite, surf boards. After picking out some things, Sam wouldn't let me get the Original 9ft 1in Balsa wood Board for $6,100.00, we left and made our way down to the beach. It was gourgeous. It was the most beautiful beach in the USA that we have ever stepped foot on. We set out our stuff, got suncreened up, and made our way to the water. It was a little cool at first but felt good. We heard that it was at about 74-75 degrees. I was happy with it. I was like a kid again, playing in the 5 to 6 ft swells and body surfing. I finally made my way back up to the beach to catch some sun, and some pics. And the wife got her Toe's in the water and then her Toe's in the sand! SammieMC00 Posted June 3, 2010 #245 Share Posted June 3, 2010 This is my public service announcement to everyone. See me sitting there on the beach on the right hand side of the picture? Notice how I have my hair parted and in braided pig tails. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time so it wouldn't get all knotty, but I forgot that my scalp would burn. For the next few days I was gingerly combing my hair and then towards the end of the cruise I kept combing it to try to get the flaking skin out of it. So heed my warning! Dont part your hair if your in the sun! LOL
deucbmac Posted June 3, 2010 Author #246 Share Posted June 3, 2010 Pop's headed back to the parking lot for a bus at about 12:30 which is when the buses started their runs back to the ship. The wife and I played in the sand and waves some more which were high but not rough. There were people surfing, skim boarding, and of course boogie boarding, but it never got too crowded. And my little buddy, (no I didn't feed it) kept coming to visit so I figured he was worth a picture. It was at about this point that the wife and I began dying of thirst. It was a toasty day and a Bucket of Miller Lite would have been nice. The wife suggested the 7-11. I went to go check out the situation. This is where it gets good. I got to the store and checked out my options. Hmmmm, Glass, Aluminum, Plastic. Well, being the Alchys we are, and I say that in a nice way, I decided on the 12-pack Aluminum. I also figured we needed something to shield the 12 cans from the 85 degree heat. I got a small cooler and headed for the counter. As I checked out, the clerk said something about water. I asked for her to repeat and she said that I got a case of water. I told her no I just have the beer and a cooler. She told me that I get a case of water with my purchase of a 12-pack of Miller Lite. She said that the last guy said he was on a cruise and didn't want his. Well, I repacked the beer in the cooler, grabbed the case of water and proceeded back to the beach. After getting back to Samantha, she looked at me, confused, and I told her "don't ask." She looked again and I grabbed a beer out of the cooler. I then proceeded to tell her the story and finished it up with "I guess only in Florida when you buy a case of beer, do you get a case of water for free" The Beach with our 7-11 cooler and Miller Lite. It's kinda like the Corona look! At around 4:30 we made our way up to the public shower and changing area and got all cleaned up and changed. We walked back over to the parking lot and hopped right on a bus to return to the ship.

oncruisecontrol Posted June 4, 2010 #248 Share Posted June 4, 2010 Thank you for posting photos of these memorials. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing when I saw (live on TV) the space shuttle Challenger explode. We happened to be off from (parochial) school that day. bermudagal56 Posted June 4, 2010 #249 Share Posted June 4, 2010 Is there a place to rent chairs at the beach? Yes they do have chairs, umbrellas, etc. to rent for either 3 hours or for the whole day. they are right when you get on the beach. You have to carry them down closer to the water or wherever you choose to sit. they do not bring them to you.
