Mardi Gras and cruising

We are just in the beginning phases of planning a family cruise. One of the ships/itineraries we are looking at is the NCL Spirit. The date is Feb 26, Mardi Gras is Feb 21 that year. I realize this is 5 days later but I am wondering if it still will effect hotel prices. Would this be a reason to not concider this cruise?

Thanks!

You will be fine. Most of the visitors will leave New Orleans on Wednesday with a few stragglers holding on for another day or two.

The Spirit is a very nice ship - I loved the back since there were lots of deck chairs in the shade! The food and service were very good, too. My favorite port was Belize - we went cave tubing and had a blast.

Thanks for the info. I am very excited about the Spirit. We have never sailed from NO and have never done the NCL. I was hoping that Mardi Gras wasn't going to eleminate this option!
