NY excursion before Voyager sails?

Did anyone coming back from the May 30th Voyager cruise to Canada do the NYC excursions offered by Royal Caribbean (statue of liberty or ellis island)?
Curious how they were and how the process works to go on them since they are before the ship leaves? Did you check your luggage first then go and at what time did you return back to the ship?
