There will be tons of guys vying for your business--just keep walking until you like the price. You certainly can bargain, especially if you have a large group. My husband didn't like me bargaining so we paid $10, but you could do it for less. We were initially told $15 each.

You will have the choice of just water taxiing to Lovers' beach or going around the end to the Pacific and to see the sea lions. It's a little less if you are just going to the beach but it is nice to get the full tour. They will feed the fish at least once and it's amazing how many fish there are. It's a little tricky getting out at the beach but it's nice to go there (no services). If you are careful watching the boats, there is pretty decent snorkeling off to the right as you face the ships, especially if you swim out to the rock that shows above the water. Your boat will come back at the time you specify but be sure you remember which boat it is.
