Last minute boat charter

Has anyone ever chartered a sailboat when they arrived in Roatan? I have a group of us interested but I'm a little concerned about weather & thinking of holding off till we arrive.

The last 2 times we chartered, (different islands) the weather was not in our favor. We lost our deposits once & the other time we went out for a quick sail.

I'm thinking there aren't many large sailboats available & this idea might not work. I probably should just pre book & hope for the best this time.

thanks for the info. I'm looking for information on whether or not anyone has ever booked a sailboat when arriving at the port & not pre-reserved though.

Hi Maja,

My wife and I stayed for a week in Roatan (West End) about a year ago and did a day-sail charter with Captain Dusty. Here is his website. If you don't want to contact him ahead of time, you can find him selling his wife's jewelry from a little booth on the northern end of the road that goes through West End.
