GoinCruisin Posted February 7, 2005 #26 Share Posted February 7, 2005 I don't think there are many that DON'T get off the ship, so Jima, you are probably in the minority category... most people get off in at least one port... aside from the fact that you are traveling OUT of your country and then re-entering... that alone is reason enough for a passport to be required, they have no way of knowing who did get off and didn't.... just makes sense. If someone never envisions traveling out of the country, and cruises once every 10 years or so, I'd say don't bother with a passport... all others should have the "international form of identity". I personally LOVE mine, never wait long at the borders, travel much easier, and don't have to worry if something happens in a foreign country... $8.50 a year is a bargain to me.
