Luau seating

Hi everyone! I tried searching but couldn't quite find what I was looking for.

I'm getting ready to book the Old Lahaina Lu'au for this October! Problem is, we can't decide which style seating we'd prefer. I'd like to try the mat seating, but my fiance said he'd like regular seating since we'll be eating.

So my question is, which have you done and or are going to do, and did you like it? Thanks everyone!

Hello it's your fiance, follow orders lol!

We have been to the OLL and the mat seating (on the ground seating) can be very uncomfortable for some. This venue is not large (i think 500 people)and the rest of the seating is all pretty good seating and is tiered some.

The earlier you make your reservations the better seating you will get. Most tables are set for 4/6 people at a table. The show is great and the drinks are also great and not watered down.

The buffet/food setup is two buffet lines and they escort by table which is great.

Enjoy!

we've done both, mats and table. We preferred the table and chairs. We were a party of 4, sat at a table for 8(?). Made ressies early, arrived early. You'll love OLL.

Enjoy your trip to Paradise!

First off, you'll absolutely LOVE the luau... it was certainly one of the biggest highlights of our trip! The staff at Old Lahaina Luau was simply fantastic.

We booked several months in advance, and we chose the traditional seating. The traditional tables are closer to the front, and are a foot or so high, so you sit on a pillow, Indian style, to eat. The other seating is at regular tables, and they're further back.

So, it basically amounts to whether or not you would feel comfortable sitting on a pillow rather than a chair. It worked out fine for us.

We are going in September and can't wait to see the OLL. Just recently we made our reservations and was told since we called early (like 4 months in advance) we were told we would get some great seating. Of course due to some mobility issues with some in our party of 6 we opted for the tables. Would have loved to sit on the ground, but then how would we get them back up! LOL

I'm sure when you book you'll get some great seating assignments, but I don't think you can request where you sit. It is seating booked by when you make your reservations for which date.

Good Luck and Enjoy

We did the Old Lahaina Lu'au last week. It was a beautiful show and the food was so tasty! We opted for the table seating because we thought the show was too long to sit on the mats. We were glad we did! The view was excellent, and I think we would have been really uncomfortable on the mats for that long. If you don't get a table close to the stage, the waiters move the chairs closer so everyone gets a good view. Have fun!
